  Sabah, the second largest state in Malaysia, is situated at the northern part of the island of Borneo, the third largest island in the world. It covers an area of 72,500 sq. kilometres with a coastline of 14,400 kilometres long washed by the South China Sea in the West, the Sulu Sea in the Northeast and the Celebes Sea in the East.Known to the world as "THE LAND BELOW THE WIND", Sabah is rich not only in natural beauty and resources, but also in the cultural heritage of its people.

Interesting Places in Sabah :

1.Tuaran Crocodile Farm
Located 32 kilometers (circa 40 minutes away) from the Kota Kinabalu city, this crocodile farm which was opened back in 2004 is a sanctuary for some 5,000 crocodiles. Among the species of crocodiles kept in the farm are the Buaya Tembaga (Crocodylus Porosus)—which can live both in freshwater and saltwater, the Nile Crocodile, the Aqua Crocodile (bisexual crocodile), and the Gharial Crocodile.The 11-acre large farm also houses a variety of other animals such as two Borneo Anacondas measuring 28 and 20 feet each, the adorable and friendly Binturong bearcats, ostriches, deer, as well as ponds of catfish and koi fish—which are always in anticipation for visitors to feed them. Should you be lucky, you will also get the chance to take a sneak peek at cute baby crocs in the nursery.

2.Mari-Mari Cultural Village

In the village, you will be introduced to various traditional homes of Sabahan ethnic communities—the Bajau, Lundayeh, Murut, Rungus and Dusun—which are built by descendants of the tribes which they represent. Your friendly excursion guide will also give thorough introductions to the houses, making it a highly educational experience.Be prepared to teleport back to the times of ancient Borneo through the display of unique ingenious architecture, simulated lives and ritualistic ceremonies. 3.Lok Kawi Wildlife Part Tour
The Lok Kawi Wildlife Park is managed by the Sabah Wildlife Department. Occupying an area of 280 acres it is one of the largest wildlife parks in Malaysia.It is home to a fascinating and varied collection of tropical animals comprising mammals, birds and reptiles. These animals live in large enclosures designed to be like their natural habitat. Water is used as barriers wherever possible, together with low fences and walls camouflaged with vegetation. This open environment concept provides for easy viewing and unique opportunities for wildlife photography.The park encourages the public and particularly schools to use its educational facilities to provide an authentic learning experience through observation and also by listening to tour guides and park staff during the visit.A botanical garden has been developed to highlight common plant species of the rainforest as well as some of the more unusual species such as pitcher plants.

4.Mount Kinabalu Climb
The main attraction at Kinabalu National Park is none other than the majestic Mt. Kinabalu. Standing at 4,095.2M, it attracts thousands of leisure and pro climbers from all over the world every year, to challenge themselves for reaching the highest peak in South Sea Asia. Moreover, it is also the venue of the world renowned Annual Mt. Kinabalu
International Climbathon, whereby the event is so exciting to mountaineers worldwide that the number of participants has been increasing each year.Moreover, the scenery from the summit is like none the others! Photographers have swamped to the mountain terrains to capture the rainforest, the sunrise, the clouds, and the Milky Way with no light pollution on a clear day…All this is definitely worth your effort to do the climb and experience yourself of this natural wonders!

5.Tunku Abdul Rahman Park

The marine park is a cluster of islands comprising Pulau Gaya, Pulau Sapi, Pulau Manukan, Pulau Mamutik and Pulau Sulug, all only 10 - 20 minute speedboat ride from the city of Kota Kinabalu. The five islands of the Marine Park are characterized by shallow waters, sumptuous coral

gardens and all boast splendid white sandy beaches.The reefs lie in shallow waters with little current making it an ideal location for novice divers, however, the diverse and sometimes rare marine creatures also make it
an interesting dive location for experienced divers and underwater photographers.Among the sandy seabed a good variety of marine life can be found such as Scorpion fish, Blue-spotted rays, cuttlefish, mantis shrimps and the occasional green or hawksbill turtle.Non-diving visitors can still have as much fun in the islands with other optional activities such as snorkeling in Pulau Sapi and Manukan and seawalking in Pulau Sapi.




6.Labuan Marine Muzuem
The Marine Museum will focus on marine life around Labuan Federal Territory, namely Labuan and generally Borneo. It is housed in shell-shaped, two-storey building and is divided into 16 galleries. It starts from general information on marine life in Labuan waters, Labuan’s
advantages as a marine kingdom or marine paradise followed by expositions on the marine life’s habitats (swampy habitat, seashore habitat, coral reef habitat ans sea/ocean habitat), fishing activities and lastly research results and publications related to Labuan fishing activities.Also created is a discovery room
specially geared towards chilren’s education. The objective is to turn Marine Museum into a scientific reference center as well as to educate visitors on the importance of preserving and appreciation of nature’s gift (the do’s and don’t’s aspects). Exhibition items will cover live specimens and preserved species of fish, sea corals, snails and moluscs, reptiles and zoo planktons, sea plants, artifacts from shipwrecks, sea research through the aquarium method, touch-pool, video wall, graphics, models, posters and charts.
